Lynn Cummings
1947 - 2021

On February 6th, we lost our dear friend Lynn Cummings, a longtime volunteer here at Theatre Suburbia. We first got to know her while she was providing transportation to and from rehearsals for her granddaughter, Kiki. Throughout the years, Lynn has been an invaluable member of our community. With a friendly face and attitude, she was always ready to lend a hand on a moment's notice.

Lynn was often found serving drinks behind the coffee bar or helping audience members find their seats. Additionally, she was a prompter for numerous shows, always seemed to be around when we were working on a set and even helped Doris set up for for various Christmas and cast parties. Lynn stepped in when extra folks were needed backstage and we even talked her into appearing on stage once - as a neighbor lady in Grandpa’s Holly Jolly Christmas (2015).

Lynn will be missed by all here at Theatre Suburbia as she moves on to a stage of a greater magnitude.

Celebration of Life Gathering February 27 @ 2 - 4 pm

Join us at Theatre Suburbia to honor and remember a great friend of the theater, Lynn Cummings.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers you make a donation to Theatre Suburbia.

Dear All,

We would like to invite you all to come to Theatre Suburbia on February 27th from 2 - 4pm to honor and remember a great friend of the theater, Lynn Cummings. Lynn Cummings passed away on February 6th, 2021, and her love and support for the theater showed no bounds. She would come in whenever she could to help clean, build sets, make flyers, come see shows and support the cast and crew, and where people saw her the most was as a line reader during rehearsal. She started volunteering at Theatre Suburbia in 2015 and has been actively involved up until her passing.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers you make a donation to Theatre Suburbia, and that all patrons, family, and friends who attend please maintain social distancing and always wear a mask. Some light snacks will be provided, and the family asks that you don’t bring any casseroles or food for them (most of them don’t live in Houston). If you would like to say anything at the memorial, please contact Lynn’s Granddaughter, Keleigh ( kcummings3@lamar.edu ) and send a written version of anything you would like to say.

We would like to thank all her friends and family who were there for Lynn throughout the years and we appreciate everything you did for her. She was always excited to hang out with her friends at the theater, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate her life.

Thanks so much everyone and stay safe!
